The ECEC curriculum is an educational pathway designed for teachers and ECEC experts to develop an innovative European in-service training for continuing education of the ECEC staff while also considering the need to respect the European framework and local educational diversity. It will contribute to the establishment of the fundamental framework in which ECEC staff are required to develop their own teaching practices to meet children’s learning and developmental needs.
A set of 5 In-service Training Courses for the ECEC Staff and Teachers on five specific topics that will constitute the baseline of the new in-service training approach proposed by the INTEC project partners. The topics the courses will be based on are inclusion and diversity, family participation, sustainability, and internationalization. The development of the 5 training courses will be conducted in continuity with the content envisaged in the ECEC curriculum.
The intensive course for pedagogical coordinators is a short-term intensive training activity that will target pedagogical coordinators and it will be designed based on the results achieved with the completion of the activities foreseen in the WP2 and WP3. Thanks to this activity, teachers will become aware of their personal values and beliefs, by acting with respect to the cultural, ethnic and gender identity of the learners. The Summer School will be organized in Belgium.
The European In-Service training Package for ECEC staff will contribute to fostering and promoting a new approach to in-service training in the field of ECEC by adding a strong European dimension to continuing professional development for teachers and pedagogical coordinators. The in-Service training Package several training paths including a set of activities proposed as part of European training plan that service providers will be able to implement in a multi-annual time frame.
